Figurative Work
My
work with the figurative subject is painted in the same manner as my
landscapes. One distinct difference is the 'close up'--of
the figure doing something within a man made environment. This
space fosters a geometry, of strong lines, angles and planes within the
composition.
The figures, more often solitary, are doing what comes natural when they have time to themselves or are doing some form of work. They are often portrayed in a private moment, oblivious to much of the world about them. They might be just looking out the window, or caught up in a 'mental zone.' |
